TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Tallahassee-area residents in need of dermatological and other advanced skin care services may now experience shorter wait times for appointments with today’s opening of Gulf Coast Dermatology, the area’s newest full-service dermatology practice.
Currently, it is not uncommon to wait weeks before being able to see a dermatologist due to a high patient-to-provider ratio locally. Gulf Coast Dermatology principals Jon Ward, M.D., and Michael Stickler, M.D., say the practice will help decrease the current wait time and improve access to quality care.
“Florida is one of the top states in the nation for skin cancer incidents,“ said Dr. Ward. “We hope to make it easier for community members to receive quality care without having to wait weeks. Patients at our practice can normally be seen within the same week of calling to schedule an appointment.”
In addition to the diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions, the practice features a complete medical spa, Aqua Medical Spa, offering an array of advanced skin care and cosmetic procedures in a relaxing spa setting. Services range from customized facial and laser treatments to Botox injections and CoolSculpting – a non-surgical method for fat removal that freezes and eliminates fat cells in the abdomen, back and waist regions. All procedures are conducted under the supervision of medical professionals.
“We believe cosmetic procedures should be conducted with proper oversight to ensure medically-sound practices and superior results,” said Dr. Ward.
