Don’t let your holiday faux pas get the best of you this Valentine’s Day! To the procrastinators, the lazies, the penny pinchers and the creatively challenged, your smartphone is bound to kindle your inner Casanova.  Check out these helpful apps below to spice up your special day:

Helpful Romantic: This Valentine’s Day, if you’re looking to wow the one you’re with without spending money or exhausting your energy level, then the “Helpful Romantic” app is the one for you! This $0.99 app does the creative work for you, based on a set of criteria including “effort” and “price.” If the standard dinner and a movie combo is out of the question, then you can enjoy “dancing in the dark,” among 101 browse-able, reasonable ideas that tickle your fancy.

justWink: Don’t have time to buy a card? Or just don’t feel like suiting up for Hallmark and parting the waters of late-card-buyers to find the least-cheesiest way to say, “I love you?” Then it might be time to download justWink, to send a digital greeting to anyone, anywhere!  This app lets you add your own heartfelt message, scribble your own splendid signature and/or include your photo for a narcissistic, personal touch!  Then, you can send your magnificent creation via text, email or Facebook (if you want the world to know you skimped on the card).

Heart CollageOut of ideas for gift-giving this year? Send yourself (a whole lot of yourself) to your sweetheart with the Heart Collage app!  Discover your inner model with step-by-step instructions for posing. Then, watch your phone stitch together your photos into a digital heart-mosaic. When your creation is complete, simply send it to your other half. What says “I love you” more than a heart-shaped collage of yourself?  We can’t think of anything.

Kiss Me Through the PhoneIn case Soulja Boy’s 2007 dance moves were not enough of a societal contribution (crank that), he now has an app that actually lets you kiss someone through your phone. It gets better. . . Feel free to add some “swag” or “luv” to your photo, and then hold down the “kiss button” to send some sugar to your significant other via your iPhone (sorry Android users). That was easy.

Open Table: If you haven’t made dinner reservations yet this Valentine’s Day, you may be out of luck, but if there is an open table in Tallahassee, this free app is bound to track it down. With the Open Table app, you can browse through countless restaurants and make instant reservations through your smartphone. Maybe your Valentine finds your spontaneity endearing, but on February 14, he/she doesn’t need to know you made your dinner reservations on-the-fly.

Now that you’re equipped with your smartphone and enough tricks up your sleeve to seduce Aphrodite, tackle this romantic day with gumption and your own romantic spark.  May the force be with you. . .
