Congratulations are in order for an innovative RBOA client! On Monday, June 25, 2012, 1105 Media announced the launch of the 100 percent all-digital format of two premier education publications, T.H.E. Journal (K-12 education) and Campus Technology (higher education). Distribution will begin in August for the newly designed publications, marking a pioneering paperless era for education technology print.
Wendy LaDuke, publisher and president of 1105 Media’s Education Group explained, “Today’s education professionals work hard every day to deliver a 21st century education to their students . . . Converting our education-focused publications to a 21st-century digital format allows us to support these professionals with easy access to engaging, interactive, up-to-the-minute information.”
1105 Media has created an engaging cyberspace for education professionals to network and grow by providing a variety of multimedia elements (video interviews, technological demonstrations, text-based articles, info-graphics and more) to generate a heightened understanding and encourage dialogue. Plus, with Android and Apple apps on the way, this digital shift will grant readers the freedom to choose their preferred virtual medium.
1105 Media has taken the technology bull by the horns and embraced the future with their digital transition. So what does the future hold for traditional readership?
This 21st century print-to-digital transformation actively accommodates a digital networked age, but do we dare take notice of the elephant in the room? Although evolving technology is inexorable, are we ready to take the cybernetic leap of faith away from traditional publications? While you mull over this virtual revolution and question the ambivalent future for conventional print, the imminent digital age whispers, “Ready or not … here I come.”
