This month, our #StaffSpotlight is shining on Executive Vice President and Chief Digital Officer Michael Winn! Michael ensures that current technologies, web design methodologies and search engine optimization strategies are leveraged in order to achieve the highest level of success for our clients. Michael just hit a major milestone: 10 years with RBOA! Read his story below. “After 10 years, it's hard to isolate one moment. There has been a series of moments throughout these 10 years, but they all have one common theme: our agency is not afraid to take risks,” Michael says. Three big markers have highlighted Michael’s career so far at RB Oppenheim Associates. The first: the way RBOA pioneered the digital industry by exploring uncharted territory outside of the traditional model of public relations agencies. RBOA took the risk and entered the digital game early on, before most PR firms had even considered it. Michael credits much of this innovation to the leaders of the agency, specifically President and CEO Rick Oppenheim for believing in his team and giving Michael the latitude to go outside of the agency's comfort zone to try new things, even if they failed. The next big marker for Michael was the creation of the Digital Opps podcast in 2018. “This was another risk we decided to take on as an agency and we have seen great success with it throughout the years,” Michael says. The Digital Opps podcast broke into the “Top 5 in Digital Marketing” list on Spotify, and has given RBOA the opportunity to connect with a variety of professionals, as Michael welcomes guests onto the show from all over the country and the world. Michael says the third marker in his career is virtual events, which have been more impactful in the past year than ever before. With the virtual shift in 2020, agencies have had to take on responsibilities that would normally be performed by the event's physical venue. In order for brands to continue to engage and launch products, they had to transition traditionally in-person events to virtual platforms, and RBOA adapted with them. In order for a business to grow, it is important to be creative, innovative and take risks. Looking back on the past 10 years, Michael says, “These are the three significant markers that have been implemented and have given positive results and success for RBOA.” ...
